Construction of Standard Gauge tracks to Kaunas passenger station are complete with the first recorded passenger use by a PKP DMU Officials special on 27 August 2015 where it was announced that a through passenger service from Warsaw is proposed but not yet confirmed to start during 2016. June 2015 Google Satellite photos show no evidence of standard gauge tracks either beyond Kaunas station or yet laid on the avoiding line to reach what appears to be a completed freight intermodal terminal at Palemonas.
A through passenger service between Kraków and Mockava will start on 13 December 2015.

There is a "SUW2000" gauge changing system at Mockava but this was used only by the overnight passenger train pair which was withdrawn after 28 May 2005 and replaced by a road service, which itself was withdrawn in 2012.
