Obscure services

Waren (Müritz) (Lalendorf Ost) – Plaaz

[205 Nord] (ERA-E 44B3; ERA-R 85C1; S+W 15B3-15C3) DE21/101

This route is used by IC trains between Berlin and Rostock, which are not booked to call at Güstrow. RE5 services run via Güstrow so do not use this route.

A two-hourly IC service operates daily between Dresden Hbf, Berlin Hbf and Rostock Hbf via this route. Northbound departures are at 59 minutes past each even hour from Waren (Müritz) between 08:59 and 20:59, and southbound trains are at 21 minutes past each even hour from Rostock Hbf from 06:21 until 18:21. Additional services are at 07:59 SuX from Waren (Müritz) (IC94 Wien - Rostock) and 20:21 SX from Rostock (IC95 Rostock - Wien).

Additional long-distance IC and ICE services operate over this route, particularly in the summer months. These are shown in Table 205 Nord of the DB Kursbuch.

Stralsund Rügendamm – Wüstenfelde (Abzw Srg)

[190] (ERA-E 44C4; ERA-R 86B3; S+W 6A1) DE21/102

This east to south curve is used by trains between the island of Rügen and the Pasewalk or Neubrandenburg lines, if not booked to call at Stralsund Hbf.

With the re-routeing of the overnight trains between Malmö and Berlin to run via Padborg in 2021 there is no longer any regular passenger use of this curve.

The curve is used occasionally by excursions. Look particularly for trips from Berlin to the Störtebeker Festspiele, held on Rügen each year.
