This branch off the Stralsund – Sassnitz line accesses the train ferry to Trelleborg, Sweden. It is used during the summer by the night train between Malmö and Berlin, southbound on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays and northbound on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.  The train runs between 26 June and 13 August 2017, also 12 April and 25 May from Malmö and 26 April and 28 May from Berlin.
