This route is normally used by ''IC'' and ''ICE'' trains between Berlin and Rostock, which are not booked to call at Güstrow. ''RE5'' services run via Güstrow so do not use this route.
 
From 8 March. a two-hourly ''IC'' service operates daily between Dresden Hbf, Berlin Hbf and Rostock Hbf via this route. Northbound departures are at 58 minutes past each even hour from Waren (Müritz) between 08:58 and 20:58, and southbound trains are at 21 minutes past each odd hour from Rostock Hbf from 06:21 until 18:21, plus 20:23 FSX.


This route is normally used by trains between Berlin and Rostock not booked to call at Güstrow.
Prior to 8 March, the service is still generally two-hourly but with some gaps on certain days.

This branch off the Stralsund – Sassnitz line accesses the train ferry to Trelleborg, Sweden. Sassnitz Fährhafen is at Mukran and has replaced Sassnitz Hafen, at Sassnitz itself.
This connection from the Berlin - Rostock main line to the train-ferry berth at Rostock Seehafen is to be used by the night train between Berlin and Malmö on a few dates in 2020 instead of the route via Sassnitz (DE20/103, above), with the train ferry being used between Rostock and Trelleborg.

Obscure services

Waren (Müritz) (Lalendorf Ost) – Plaaz

This route is normally used by IC and ICE trains between Berlin and Rostock, which are not booked to call at Güstrow. RE5 services run via Güstrow so do not use this route.

From 8 March. a two-hourly IC service operates daily between Dresden Hbf, Berlin Hbf and Rostock Hbf via this route. Northbound departures are at 58 minutes past each even hour from Waren (Müritz) between 08:58 and 20:58, and southbound trains are at 21 minutes past each odd hour from Rostock Hbf from 06:21 until 18:21, plus 20:23 FSX.

Prior to 8 March, the service is still generally two-hourly but with some gaps on certain days.

Additional long-distance IC and ICE services operate over this route, particularly in the summer months.
