This line is used by trains along the east bank of the Rhein (Rechte Rheinstrecke) which are not booked to call at Koblenz. Car carrier trains running in summer are not yet listed here.

This west to north curve provides a connection between the main line from Koblenz via Bingen and the Mainzer Kaiserbrücke over the Rhein between Mainz and Wiesbaden.

The few trains that use it all also use DE13/523 at the other end of the Kaiserbrücke; see that listing for details.

Ludwigshafen (Rhein) Hbf – Ludwigshafen BASF Nord

Various trains to/from Ludwigshafen operate to/from the BASF chemical works. There are three halts, Süd, Mitte and Nord, within the BASF works. Use of the trains is officially restricted to those with works passes. Smoking and photography are strictly forbidden within the works.

This curve, via the low level west side platforms 6 to 9 at Ludwigshafen (Rhein) Hbf, is used by through trains between the Frankenthal and Schifferstadt lines. There is a service between Mainz and Karlsruhe via Germersheim every two hours, less frequently at weekends.
