Introduction

This list is based on the timetable in force until 10 December 2011, unless otherwise stated. Standard abbreviations are explained in General Information.

In the heading to each entry the map reference for the line in the Schweers+Wall Eisenbahn Atlas (2007/2008 edition) is shown, in italic, in addition to the reference to M.G. Ball's European Railway Atlas.

Obscure services

Ludwigstraße – Saarbrücken Messe

(56A3, 81C) DE11/451

A halt on the freight line to Fürstenhausen adjoins the site of Saarbrücken Messe. Saarbahn trams run to and from this, in connection with certain trade fairs, using a connection from the street-running line at Ludwigstraße to DB in the vicinity of Abzw Saardamm. In previous years a half-hourly service has operated from the city centre and Hauptbahnhof in connection with the International Saarmesse.

Niedaltdorf – Bouzonville (France)

(55B3 not shown, 82C-82D) DE11/452

This entry duplicates FR557. This line has no regular service but special shuttle services operate from Dillingen in conjunction with the Good Friday market at Bouzonville. There are usually two round trips in the morning and two in the afternoon. Journey time is approximately 30 minutes. For future years, enquire at DB, Dillingen, or check the DB online timetables.

Merzig – Merzig Ost

(55B3, 83B3) DE11/453

MECL Eisenbahnfreunde eV operate occasional trains over this connecting line between DB and the Merzig–Büschfelder Eisenbahn, usually for their Bahnhofsfest at the beginning of August. See Museums-Eisenbahn-Club-Losheim.

Dillingen - Primsweiler - Limbach

(55B3, 83C3 - 83C4) DE11/454

MECL Eisenbahnfreunde eV operate specials on this freight-only line once a year, on the Ascension Thursday public holiday.
