This south to west curve connects the Halle and Helmstedt lines, avoiding reversal at Magdeburg. The only passenger train to use this line is:

The Berlin – Bitterfeld and Falkenberg – Roßlau lines run parallel through Lutherstadt Wittenberg. The following uses the connection between the two north of the station:
