Owing to engineering work between Weimar and Jena, all trains between Weimar and Jena-Göschwitz in the period 2 April to 3 September 2016 are diverted  via Apolda and the 1 km long Großheringen west curve.

In the heading to each entry the map reference for the line in the Schweers+Wall Eisenbahn Atlas (2007/2008 edition) is shown, in italic, in addition to the reference to M.G. Ball's European Railway Atlas.

Obscure services

Grimmenthal – Ritschenhausen

This line is used by trains between Erfurt Hbf and Schweinfurt Hbf, to avoid reversal at Meiningen. These run every two hours.
