Contents

Introduction

This list is based on the timetable from 9 December 2018 to 14 December 2019. However, it should be noted it is completely reissued about four times per year, the current version covering from 9 December 2018 to 9 March 2019. In addition, there are frequent amendments within timetable periods. Standard abbreviations are explained in General Information. Map references relate to the Polish Regional version of the European Railway Atlas 2016 published by M.G. Ball ISBN: 978-0-9955070-1-2 and the Mały Atlas Linii Kolejowych Polski 2011 published by Eurosprinter ISBN: 978-83-931006-3-7

(Kutno –) Kłodawa (p.odg. Zamków) – Lipie Góry (p.odg. Borysławice)

[B170, 300, 315] (ERA177A2 - A4; D7-D6) PL19/304

Part of the Poznań to Warszawa main line (T300) is closed, so until 14 December 2019, some trains between Poznań and Warszawa and v.v. are diverted via this curve plus PL19/305 and PL19/306, except for those international services starting or finishing in Moskva Belorusskaia.

Lipie Góry (p.odg. Borysławice) – Piotrków Kujawski – Inowrocław Rabinek

[B170, 300, 315] (ERA177A2 - A4; D7-D6) PL19/305

Part of the Poznań to Warszawa main line (T300) is closed so until 14 December 2019 trains between Poznań and Warszawa and v.v. are diverted via this 73km section of T315 plus PL19/304 and PL19/306, except for those international services starting or finishing in Moskva Belorusskaia.

Inowrocław Rabinek – Janikowo (p.odg Dziarnowo)

[B170, 315, 430] (ERA177A4; D6) PL19/306

This line links line 131 [315] with the main line west to Gniezno.

Various parts of the Poznań to Warszawa main line (T300) are closed until 14 December 2019, so trains between Poznań and Warszawa are diverted via this curve and PL19/304 and PL19/305 except for international services starting or finishing in Moskva Belorusskaia which run via Ilawa [reverse]!

Inowrocław Rabinek – Inowrocław (Inowrocław Towawory) via Line 742 OR Part Line 741

[315, 405] (ERA176C4; D6) PL19/307

There are two routes between Line 315 and Inowrocław station. Polish sources advised services running at March 2018 calling at Inowrocław but NOT calling at Inowrocław Rabinek were using part of the Inowrocław avoiding line 741 over the Poznań main line plus the connection to/from podg Mimowolo and Inowrocław Towawory, as opposed to ground level line 742 on the south side of the main line. A traveller on 18 April 2018 confirmed his train took this alternative but reports of the route taken by the 2019 services would be appreciated by the Compilers.

Note none of the overnight services to/from 315 are shown in that table PDF.

Domanin (p.odg. Hanulin – Kępno (low level) (– Wielun)

[320/322] (ERA181C1, F6) PL19/308

Kępno is a two level station. The Poznań - Ostrów - Kluczbork line has high level platforms at right angles to the low level Herby Nowe line platforms. There are two north-to-east connecting curves between the two lines but only the 1.8 km outside curve (Line 812) connects the line from the Ostrów direction with the low level platforms; the other curve bypasses all platforms. All services to/from Ostrów Wielkopolski starting or terminating at Kępno use the north-to-east outside curve to reach the low level platforms. Details can be found in the station platform arrival/departure sheets using Peron II. The table 320 timetable PDF shows Kepno separately in italics at the top or bottom of the table (depending on direction) for starting or terminating trains.

Only one train pair continues from Kępno Low Level to Wieluń Dąbrowa on 322.

Jarocin

[321] (ERA176B2 not shown, E5) PL19/311

Jarocin is a split station. Prior to March 2019 all services on the reinstated service to Gniezno arrived into or started from Peron 3 on the east side and used around 600m of separate track from 320. Since then:-

a. KW-77206 SSuX from Gniezno 06.08 arrived into Jarocin 07.10 as above [Peron 3 Track 256] and continued onwards to Krotoszyn arrive 07.49 reopening to passengers the 1.6 km link south from the station platform to the junction with connecting line 826 [used by through Poznan – Krotoszyn services]

b. the return KW-77801 SSuX Krotoszyn 08.09 was initially booked into Peron 1 Track 1 at Jarocin depart 08.49 [to Gniezno 09.51] so would use Line 826 south of Jarocin and connection 983 at the north end across to reach T321 but from an unknown date was re-platformed to Peron 3 Track 256 to run as per entry a. in reverse.

Sulechów (podg Czerwieńsk Wsch.) – Czerwieńsk – Przylep (podg Czerwieńsk Płd.)

[334, 355] (ERA175B2 partially shown, E2 partially shown) PL19/312

Almost all trains between Zielona Góra and Sulechów (- Zbąszynek) avoid Czerwieńsk by the south <=> east avoiding curve (podg Czerwieńsk Południe - podg Czerwieńsk Wschodnia) opened on 9 June 2013. The following are the only services still using the old line from the avoiding curve east junction to Czerwieńsk station which crosses underneath the Zielona Góra line to the south side of the two-sided Czerwieńsk station. Additionally these services also use a significant connection to/from the Zielona Góra line at the east end of Czerwieńsk station.

Gorzów Wielkopolski

[334/345] (ERA175B4 not shown, D2) PL19/313

The station is split by route, passengers walking between services by subway with any trains to/from the Międzyrzecz line platforms onto/off the Kostrzyn line (345) using a lengthy connection of over 1 km to the west. The only platform currently open is on the Międzyrzecz side of the station so all services to/from Kostrzyn were using this connection due to an engineering work closure of the line between Gorzów Wielkopolski Wschodni and the main station. This is shown as ending on 8 June 2019. There had been no scheduled PKP services using this connection since 2010 although it has been covered by a few Turkol Charters.

Rzepin avoiding line: Jerzmanice Lubuskie – Drzeńsko (podg. Drzeńsko)

[355] (ERA175A3, D1) PL19/314

No service in all year PDFs as at December 2018. Was in use up to 2 September 2018.

Szczecin Główny eastern approaches

[361] (ERA170B4, R1) PL19/316

There are two alternative routes from Szczecin Zdroje (p.odg. Regalica) to Szczecin Główny. The shorter northern route runs via Szczecin Port Centralny station into the northern end of Szczecin Główny, and the longer southern route via p.odg. Dziewoklicz and p.odg. Szczecin Wstowo into the southern end of Szczecin Główny. Most IC services and a few PR services take the southern route and may be identified by a '<' symbol against Szczecin Port Centralny.

Szczecin Podjuchy - Szczecin Zdroje

[366, plus 361] (ERA170B4, R1) PL19/317

A summer train pair from Katowice to Kolobrzeg use this curve as well as two local trains with very limited dates of operation

Szczecin Główny western approaches

[368, 369] (ERA170B4, R1) PL19/318

There are three possible routes from Szczecin Gumieńce to/from Szczecin Główny. From north to south these are: (a) a single track line via Szczecin Wzgórze Hetmańskie and Szczecin Pomorzany, (b) the usual single track direct line and (c) the double track southern loop via p.odg. Szczecin Wstowo - p.odg. Dziewoklicz - Szczecin Port Centralny. There was use during engineering work from July to (possibly) September 2017 via Szczecin Wzgórze Hetmańskie, none in 2018 but numerous trains were allowed up to 14 minutes on 20/21 June and between 24 June - 7 July 2019.

The Journey planner map shows the following pair booked via Szczecin Wzgórze Hetmańskie and Szczecin Pomorzany for all of 2019 but this was soon amended!

Note A SuX PR 5806 Angermunde/Tantow [DB] - 07:33 Szczecin Gumieńce - Szczecin Główny
Note B PR 5803 19:45/19:50 Szczecin Główny - Angermunde/Tantow [DB]

Goleniów - Mosty direct

[375] (ERA170B1, B2) PL19/319

With the opening of the line to Port Lotniczy Szczecin Goleniów and a triangle serving it, there are limited services to/from Kołobrzeg not calling at the airport via the direct third side.

Obscure services: Lines used on an occasional basis

Poznań Franowo and area

Note a Summer overnight pair as at December 2018 PDFs is shown as running via a combination of routes, see PL19/310 for details

Poznań Franowo is a large marshalling yard and depot on the south freight ring around Poznań. The lines through the yard area provide an alternative to passing through Poznań Główny station. Four different types of usage exist

  • Trains entering Poznań Główny from the north can continue without reversal through Poznań Franowo to the Warszawa and Inowrocław lines. This has been the major use in recent years.
  • As an alternative route to the Warszawa and Inowrocław lines if the lines from Poznań Główny to Swarzędz or Kobylnica are closed due to engineering work.
  • By Turkol steam excursions from Poznań Główny. Different options exist, but the most likely are ‘short’ circulars via Franowo and Poznań Wschód or ‘long’ circulars via Franowo and the northern freight ring to Kiekrz where they reverse. See Turkol
  • By Polish Woodstock festival specials to the festival site in Kostrzyn from the north and east and v.v.

Click on thumbnail for a map showing the lines likely to be used:-

Within the Franowo area any Turkol anticlockwise ‘long’ circuit services can take different routes, either Line 352 on the north side of the yard, or lines 823/824, a south side route from p.odg Pokrzywno and a flyover to p.odg Stary Młyn. Line 352 on the north side runs via platforms used by staff trains prior to their withdrawal in approx December 2006 and all westbound or clockwise Turkol charters must take this route.

Poznań Gorczyn – Line 801 - Poznań Dębina - [Poznań Starołęka]

[300a] (ERA180C1, R10) PL19/351

Woodstock specials ran towards Jarocin via this route in 2017 and 2018. Note special tickets are required. Woodstock specials may also run via other combinations through Franowo yard. See next entries.

Poznan Starolęka - Poznań Franowo - Swarzędz

[300a/360] (ERA180C1, R10&D4) PL19/352

Short term daytime use by one pair of IC's ended with the June 2017 PDFs. May be used by Woodstock specials to Kostrzyn from the Warszawa line (and v.v.), but the continuing closure of Poznań Główny to Konin (T300) will limit opportunities until 2020.

Poznan Starolęka - Poznań Franowo – Kobylnica

[300a/360] (ERA180C1, R10&D4) PL19/353

No recent use by trains to avoid reversal, but a possible route for Woodstock specials to Kostrzyn from the Inowrocław line (and v.v.).

Former Table 315: Częstochowa Aniołow/Herby Stare - Zduńska Wola Karsznice - Inowrocław/Bydgoszcz

The whole of this 250 km long north – south line (line 131) no longer has a scheduled passenger service, but at least parts are regularly used for diversionary purposes and seasonal trains to the Baltic coast. In recent years use can only be identified from other tables as they do not appear in PDF 315. Its EGTRE entries and its numerous connecting lines are grouped together from south to north.
