Portugal - Lines with Obscure or Sparse passenger services
Introduction
This list is based on the service valid as at 13 December 2015. CP no longer publish a national railway timetable, so there are no table numbers.
CP's timetable periods nominally coincide with those in the rest of Europe, but in practice timetables are changed on an ad hoc basis, often with little notice.

Obscure services
Lisboa Santa Apolónia (Bif. Xabregas) — Chelas

This south to west curve links Santa Apolónia station with Entrecampos and beyond.

Other sparse services
The following lines have few trains (relative to service levels generally in this country) - fewer than four trains each way on at least three days a week - or do not run every day of the week:
- Guarda - Vilar Formoso - Fuentes de Oñoro (Spain)
- Valença - Tui/Guillarei (Spain)
- Mirandela - Carvalhais [Linha do Tua]. Runs Monday to Friday only
- Leiria - Verride
- Entroncamento - Portalegre. Runs Friday and Sunday only
The train service on the following lines has been suspended owing to planned or emergency engineering work, with no known dates for resumption of rail operation:
- Guarda - Covilhã. Replaced by buses since temporary closure in 2014
- Oliveira de Azeméis - Sernada do Vouga [Linha do Vouga]. Replaced by taxis.
