This curve is used by trains running directly between Prievidza and Bratislava, avoiding Lužianky. There are regular trains throughout the day and these can be readily identified in the ZSSK timetable as follows:
For northbound trains use timetable 140 and look for trains starting from Bratislava hl.n. or Leopoldov with blanks against stations until a black line starts at Jelšovce and calls at Topoľčany and Prievidza.
For southbound services use timetable 140 and look for trains starting from Prievidza calling at Topoľčany with a black line below as far as Jelšovce and destination Bratislava hl.n.

A small number of services on the Bratislava - Trnava route run to Bratislava-Nové Mesto rather than Bratislava hlavná stanica: they are clearly marked in table 120. Interestingly, this route contains the only burrowing (flying) junction used by passenger services in Slovakia.
This curve is used by trains between Prešov and Margecany which are not booked to call and reverse at Kysak.

It appears that shuttles ran along this 3 km freight line in July-August 2020 - 2023 see [https://www.ruzomberok.sk/oznamy/leto-s-korytkom-2023.html dates and times for 2023].

This curve is used by trains between Prešov and Margecany which are not booked to call and reverse at Kysak.
It is expected that dates and times for 2024 shuttles will appear [https://www.ruzomberok.sk/oznamy/leto-s-korytkom-2024.html here].
Note that trains designated 'EC' are services of private operator Leo Express and ZSSK tickets/concessions are not valid.
Between Košice and Prešov and vice versa, Leo Express services may carry a different train number from that shown below.

===Čierna nad Tisou – Čop (Ukraine)===
===Bratislava Vajnory to Bratislava Vinohrady via Bratislava východ (line 127a)===
[190] (ERA 202C1-C2) SK17/5

This international route and the station area at Čop are dual gauge 1435/1520 mm. Public passenger services (2 return journeys daily) are 1435 mm gauge, operated by ŽSR. Cross border freight traffic uses both gauges are there are 1520 mm gauge tracks to and from the gauge-changing and transfer facilities in the Čierna nad Tisou area.
(ERA-E 89A5; ERA-R 205C1) SK24/4

{|  class="ostable"
Due to construction works in Bratislava-Vinohrady (single-track operation, platform 1 closed, only platform 2 in use in direction Bratislava Vajnory) westbound services between Bratislava Vajnory and Bratislava Vinohrady are diverted via Line 127a which passes Bratislava východ yard. This diversion will '''probably''' last until the timetable change in December 2023.  It has been left in here until reports that the diversion has ceased are seen/received.

There are extensive engineering works taking place east of Zilina since July 2022 and eastbound trains (in 2023/02)  depart Žilina station normally past St 1 and onto the goods lines via Odchodova Skupina, Odb. Vah, Tranzit, and the flyover to rejoin the main line at Odb. Potok.<br />
Eastbound services run via the western flyover and yard to Varin (if calling there) or via both the western and eastern flyovers to odb. Potok (if not calling at Varin) and that westbound services use the single track main line.

Introduction

This list is based on the timetable dated from 10 December 2023, unless otherwise shown. Standard abbreviations are explained here. Trains running only certain days of the week are shown using ISO 8601 weekday numbers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_week_date).

Map references for each route entry are given in parentheses ( ). References prefixed "ERA-E" refer to the European Railway Atlas (All-Europe Edition) by M.G. Ball. References prefixed "ERA-R" refer to the European Railway Atlas (Regional Series: Book 3) by M.G. Ball.

IMPORTANT NOTE: in the Slovak Railways timetable (Cestovný poriadok), the ⚒ working days symbol means ① to ⑤ not, as for most other railways, ① to ⑥.

Obscure services

Zbehy – Jelšovce

[140,141] (ERA-E 89C2; ERA-R 204A3) SK24/1

This curve is used by trains running directly between Prievidza and Bratislava, avoiding Lužianky. There are regular trains throughout the day and these can be readily identified in the ZSSK timetable as follows: For northbound trains use timetable 140 and look for trains starting from Bratislava hl.n. or Leopoldov with blanks against stations until a black line starts at Jelšovce and calls at Topoľčany and Prievidza. For southbound services use timetable 140 and look for trains starting from Prievidza calling at Topoľčany with a black line below as far as Jelšovce and destination Bratislava hl.n.

Kysak avoiding line: Veľká Lodina (Kysak výh. č 35/36) – Obišovce (Kysak výh. č 39/40)

[180, 188] (ERA-E 91A4; ERA-R 202A3) SK24/2

This curve is used by trains between Prešov and Margecany which are not booked to call and reverse at Kysak.

EC1263 Praha hl.n. – 03:09 Spišská Nová Ves - Prešov
Ex15621 Bratislava hlavná stanica – 19:17 Margecany - Humenné
EC1259 Praha hl.n. – 20:52 Spišská Nová Ves - Prešov
D ⑥⑦ REX1689 21:56 Margecany – Prešov
EC1254 05:50 Prešov - Praha hl.n.
D REX1682 9:21 Prešov - Margecany
Ex17630 Humenné - 16:05 Prešov - Bratislava hlavná stanica
EC1250 23:22 Prešov - Praha hl.n.

Ružomberok – Zápalkáreň

(ERA-E 90A4; ERA-R 200B3) SK24/3

It appears that shuttles ran along this 3 km freight line in July-August 2020 - 2023 see dates and times for 2023.

It is expected that dates and times for 2024 shuttles will appear here.

Bratislava Vajnory to Bratislava Vinohrady via Bratislava východ (line 127a)

(ERA-E 89A5; ERA-R 205C1) SK24/4

Due to construction works in Bratislava-Vinohrady (single-track operation, platform 1 closed, only platform 2 in use in direction Bratislava Vajnory) westbound services between Bratislava Vajnory and Bratislava Vinohrady are diverted via Line 127a which passes Bratislava východ yard. This diversion will probably last until the timetable change in December 2023. It has been left in here until reports that the diversion has ceased are seen/received.

Obscure services: Lines used on an occasional basis for engineering work diversions

Zvolen avoider

[160, 170] (ERA-E 90A3; ERA-R 200B1) SK24/5

This north to east curve was last used between 5 - 23 November 2021 by trains to/from Banska Bystrica and Zvolen reversing at Zvolen nákladná stanica due to local engineering works.

Hodonín ČD - Holíč nad Moravou ŽSR

[Ex ČD 332/Ex ŽSR 115] (ERA-E 95C3; ERA-R 197C2; 88 ČD section only) SK24/6

This electrified single track cross border line closed to passengers at the December 2004 timetable change but is used by freight services and as a diversionary passenger route, fairly regularly in recent years due to major storm damage on the Czech main line. In use between 13th to 25th October 2023 with details on the ČD engineering work listings.

All services passing through Fiľakovo, both local and fasts, were diverted via the avoiding line 115B from 11 December 2022, calling instead at Fiľakovo Zastávka.

Plaveč – Čirč – Muszyna [PL]

[188] (ERA-E 91A5; ERA-R ERA-R 201C4) SK23/5

This west to north curve is part of the former international route between Kraków and Košice. Two seasonal ⑥ & ⑦ train pairs are the only trains to use this curve, since local trains, which used to continue only to Čirč, stopped in 2022. This is listed in sparse services.

Žilina – Od. Skupina - Odb Potok

(ERA-E 90A4-A5, ERA-R 200A3) SK23/6

There are extensive engineering works taking place east of Zilina since July 2022 and eastbound trains (in 2023/02) depart Žilina station normally past St 1 and onto the goods lines via Odchodova Skupina, Odb. Vah, Tranzit, and the flyover to rejoin the main line at Odb. Potok.
Eastbound services run via the western flyover and yard to Varin (if calling there) or via both the western and eastern flyovers to odb. Potok (if not calling at Varin) and that westbound services use the single track main line.

The ZSSK real time trains map shows the diversion.

The diversions are believed to have stopped in 2023.
