Introduction
This list is based on the timetable in force from 14 December 2014 until 12 December 2015, unless otherwise stated. Standard abbreviations are explained in General Information.
Obscure services
Zidani Most avoiding line: Radeče (km 501) – Rimske Toplice (km 502.5)
[10, 30] (46A2 not shown; ERA1 100A2/B2) SI15/1

Ljubljana Polje (Ljubljana Moste) – BTC City Ljubljana
(45B2 not shown; ERA1 100A2/B2,not shown) SI15/2
BTC City is a large shopping centre and entertainment complex in Ljubljana, with a station part way up a 1 km branch off the main line to Zidani Most. Trains run between Ljubljana and BTC City, reversing in the yard at Ljubljana Moste and not calling at Ljubljana Polje. Trains to BTC City are not shown on departure sheets at Ljubljana station, but are displayed on the main departure indicator. The evening working is for visitors to the casino, cinema and other facilities. It is possible to return direct to the city centre on bus 27, which also serves BTC City.
Timings for 2012 - 2013 were shown on the Slovenian Railways website tab Vlak v BTC. However, no timings for 2014 - 2015 are shown. The compilers would appreciate information on whether or not these trains are running in 2015.
Škofja Loka "avoiding line" (km 585.5 – km 586.8)
[20] (45B2 not shown; ERA1 100A2,not shown) SI15/3
This line, from the south end of the station avoiding the platforms and taking a more direct course northwards, is normally used by trains not booked to call at this station.
Maribor avoiding line: Maribor Tezno – Maribor Tabor
[30, 34] (46A2 not shown; ERA1 100A3) SI15/4
A south to west curve avoiding Maribor.
SSuX | LP3480 | Poljčane - 06:21 Maribor Tezno - Maribor Studenci |
Pragersko avoiding line: Rače – Šikole
[30, 40] (46A2; ERA1 100A3) SI15/5
This north to east curve avoiding Pragersko station is used by trains between the Maribor and Ptuj lines if not calling at Pragersko.

SuX | 3821 | Murska Sobota - 20:57 Sikole - Maribor |
If there is a shortage of diesel units, some trains may be loco hauled at short notice. In this case, the train uses the avoiding line before reversing into Pragersko station. This has been observed with the following train:
SuX | LP3854 | Maribor - 12:43 Rače - Murska Sobota |
Rakitovec - Buzet (Croatia)
[61, F1] (45B1 not shown; ERA1 100B1) SI15/6
The complete service over this cross-border section is not easily determined from either the Slovenian or Croatian timetables.
E | MV1272 | Hrpelje-Kozina - 08:35 Rakitovec - Pula
E | MV1474 | Ljubljana - 08:35 Rakitovec - Pula

Other sparse services
The following lines have few trains (relative to service levels generally in this country) - fewer than four trains each way on at least three days a week:
32 | Sveti Rok ob Sotli - Ðurmanec (Croatia) | 2 return journeys SSuX; one each way SSuO |
34 | Prevalje - Bleiburg (Austria) | 2 return journeys SSuX |
72 | Prvačina - Ajdovščina | 2 return journeys on schooldays only |
80 | Metlika - Rosalnice | 2 trains SSuX each way with an extra train SuO from Rosalnice |
The following line is operated by bus, although trains may be reintroduced in the future:
50 | Sežana - Villa Opicina (Italy) |
At weekends, most lines have a very restricted local service, or none at all. This particularly affects the following lines, which have few or no long-distance trains:
21 | Ljubljana - Kamnik Graben |
31 | Celje - Velenje |
32 / 33 | Grobelno - Stranje - Imeno / Sveti Rok ob Sotli / Ðurmanec (Croatia) |
34 | Maribor - Prevalje |
40 / 41 | Pragersko - Ormož - Središče / Hodoš |
70 | Sežana - Nova Gorica |
80 | Ljubljana - Novo mesto - Metlika |
81 | Sevnica - Trebnje |
