Introduction

This list is based on the timetable in effect from 12 December 2021.

Obscure services

Hundested – Hundested Havn

(Frederiksværkbanen: Lokalbanen A/S) (ERA-E 41B5; ERA-R 15B5) DK22/1

Some (but not all) Lokaltog train services continue approximately 0.5 km to Hundested Havn station, connecting with an hourly vehicle passenger ferry to Rørvig. Note Hundested Havn station is NOT shown in the all Denmark PDFs on the DSB website but are listed on those produced by the lines operators Localtog.

Similarly in the Danish Rejseplanen/Journey Planner these trains can only be found by explicitly selecting "Hundested Havn st." as the origin or destination as even if entering Rørvig it will advise a walk from Hundested [main station]. Note there are seasonal variations.

Fredericia avoiding line: Middelfart (Snoghøj) – Taulov

80,81 (ERA-E 40B2; ERA-R 14B2) DK22/2

This east to west curve between the main line from København and routes to Esbjerg and the German frontier, is used by trains between København/Odense and Esbjerg/Kolding not calling at Fredericia

København – Ringsted high speed line: Dybbølsbro – Køge Nord – Ringsted

50 (ERA-E 41B4-C4; ERA-R 15B4-C4) DK22/3

This high speed line between København and Ringsted is used by trains running between København H and Ringsted or Odense that do not call at Roskilde.

København avoiding line: Ørestad (Kalvebod) – Vigerslev – Høje Taastrup (Hvidovre Fjern)

(ERA-E 41C4; ERA-R 15C1) DK22/4

This connection links the Øresundsbane from København airport with the classic main line to Roskilde.

It is scheduled to be used by the following Snälltåget services:

D1 D301 Stockholm C – 21:55 Malmø C – Berlin Hbf
D2 D300 Berlin Hbf - 06:38 Høje Taastrup - Stockholm C

D1: Daily 27 June - 5 September 2021; WSO 8 - 29 September 2021
D2: Daily 28 June - 5 September 2021; WSO 8 September - 2 October 2021

København Airport avoiding line: Tårnby – Hyllie (Peberholm)

(ERA-E 41C4; ERA-R 15C1) DK22/5

The main line runs through Københavns Lufthavn station below ground level but an avoiding line runs at ground level to the north of the station. This may be used by the Snälltåget services below. It is more likely that westbound trains will use the avoiding line than eastbound trains because the latter would conflict with regular Øresund services at the flat junction at the west end of Københavns Lufthavn station. The junction at the east end is grade separated.

Reports to date are in August 2021 the southbound ran via the avoiding line and so did a northbound in November but the latter traveller commented one platform at the Airport station had been closed the previous day so it may have been a temporary diversion. Therefore additional reports would be appreciated by the Compilers.

D1 D301 Stockholm C – 21:55 Malmø C – Berlin Hbf
D2 D300 Berlin Hbf - 06:38 Høje Taastrup - Stockholm C

D2: Daily 28 June - 5 September 2021; WSO 8 September - 2 October 2021 and later dates as advertised

  • [Hillerød] – Gentofte – Hellerup: The east- and westbound lines take separate routes

  • The track towards Høje Tastrup from the penultimate station of Tastrup dives under an access line to a sizeable S-Tog Depot
  • On the Køge line the south- and northbound tracks at Hundige are separated by an S-Tog Depot

Other sparse services

None

Deletions since previous edition

DK20/1 Lemvig – Lemvig Havn The line needs renovation before it can be used for passenger traffic. There appear to be no plans to do this.
DK20/5 København Østerport - Lersøen (- Bispebjerg) No “Rundt om husene” trains ran in 2020 and they had to cease permanently by the first quarter of 2021 owing to the installation of CBTC signalling on its route.
