[E*] InterCity trains are worked to and from Luxembourg by DB dual-frequency electric locomotives. Local trains between Trier and Luxembourg are operated by CFL class 4000 locos and DB class 628 diesel units, two of which have been transferred from DB to CFL ownership, though still maintained at Trier.
[E*] Trains are worked by either electric units or push-pull stock with CFL locomotives. The change of electrification system is on the border bridge over the river Sure/Sauer, where trains coast for a short distance.
